Shannon Dyson
Shannon was born and raised in Memphis, TN and went to the University of Tennessee. (During the good football years #PeytonManning)
He is married to Jill and they have 3 boys. He enjoys playing golf, traveling, watching UT Football and Tiger Basketball. He understands that the combination of cheering for UT Football and Tiger basketball is offensive to some people, and he is Ok with that.
He is an active member at Hope Presbyterian church where he serves as an Elder.
Shannon joined Shoemaker in 2007 and is the President of Shoemaker Insurance Solutions. He has spent most of his career in the Group Employee Benefits side of the business and now enjoys leading our team of Producers in Group Benefits, Medicare, Commercial P&C, and Home and Auto Insurance.
Emily Breen
Emily joined Shoemaker in 2013 as an Employee Benefits Account Manager with Shoemaker Benefits. In 2018, she was an integral part of the transition into the new, expanded division of Shoemaker Insurance Solutions. She is a licensed Life and Health agent, working closely with clients to implement new business and coordinating renewals for existing clients. Additionally, she problem solves for clients and serves as a liaison between customers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators to ensure the benefits programs for our clients run smoothly.
Born and raised in Memphis, Emily graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. Both she and her husband, Justin, are proud alumni of the University of Memphis and supporters of Tiger Athletics. Emily and Justin live in Collierville with their 2 boys, Logan and Luke, and their 2 dogs. They are avid travelers and enjoy home renovation projects and weekends at Greers Ferry Lake in Arkansas. They are also active members of Church of the Holy Communion, an Episcopal parish in the heart of Memphis.

Claire Greene
Claire is a proud Memphis native and doesn’t plan on leaving the 901 anytime soon. She graduated from the University of Memphis—go Tigers go! She enjoys spending as much time as possible with family and friends, and loves being “Auntie” to her sweet niece and nephew. Claire enjoys watching and discussing movies, and secretly used to dream of being a film critic. She loves spending time with her dog, Conley (named after Memphis Grizzlies alum, Mike Conley).
Claire quickly felt at home when she joined Shoemaker Insurance Solutions in 2020. She is a Licensed Insurance Agent who specializes in helping people navigate, compare, and enroll in Medicare policies. She utilizes a client-centric process, which means she looks at each individual’s needs, goals, and budget when reviewing their options. By contracting with several difference insurance carriers, Claire is able to review a variety of different plans, rates and benefits to ensure each person is set up with the coverage that best suits their needs. Claire loves being a part of the Shoemaker team because it gives clients an opportunity to have all their insurance needs managed under one roof by caring, like-minded professionals.
Dane Williams
Dane is a Tennessee native who has lived in Shelby County for his entire life. Currently he calls Germantown home with two daughters Georgia Kate and Scarlett. As a proud University of Memphis alum, you can often find him rooting for the Tigers at the Liberty Bowl or the FedExForum.
He served as a financial advisor at Shoemaker Financial during his first 5 years with the firm and spent the last 2 years training the firm's new advisors. His advising practice had a focus on helping individuals make sound financial decisions to set themselves and their families up to live the life they desired.
In 2018, Dane shifted into another role within Shoemaker by helping launch new initiatives within Shoemaker Insurance Solutions in the Personal Lines division and in 2024 officially took over the Commercial Lines division. As a Commercial Insurance Advisor, he helps companies manage the risks associated with their business and implement plans tailored to their needs.
Katie Abart
Katie, a proud native Memphian, joined Shoemaker Insurance Solutions in 2022 as a dedicated Insurance Advisor, specializing in home, auto, life, and health.
A graduate of the University of Memphis with a degree in marketing and sales, Katie's early career in insurance began immediately after college. She obtained her insurance license and spent six years honing her skills in a captive insurance agency. During this time, she developed a deep understanding of the intricacies of the industry and a commitment to providing exceptional service to her clients.
Married to her high school sweetheart, Jacob, Katie took a hiatus from the corporate world to focus on raising their four boys. During the next decade, she channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into building a successful home-based business. Her ability to balance family life and entrepreneurship underscored her resilience and determination.
As her youngest child transitioned to school full time, Katie eagerly returned to the world of insurance, fueled by a passion for helping others and a desire to add value to her clients' lives. At Shoemaker Insurance Solutions, Katie's primary goal is to guide policyholders through the insurance maze, ensuring they are well-informed about their risk exposures. Her approach centers on providing peace of mind through policies tailored to meet individual needs and deliver comprehensive coverage.
Katie's personal and professional experiences uniquely position her to relate to clients on a deeper level. She understands the importance of family, security, and financial well-being, and she brings this perspective to every client interaction.
When Katie isn’t at the office or out and about networking you can find her volunteering at their church and school or on a baseball field watching her boys play for their competitive baseball organizations. She also loves spending time with family and friends and traveling.
With a passion for service, a diverse skill set, and a commitment to excellence, Katie is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of her clients. Her mission is to empower policyholders with the knowledge and coverage they need to face the future with confidence.

Amanda Brace
Amanda grew up in a small town in Alabama and moved to Memphis in the spring of 2022 from Florida, where she was a high school science teacher. She studied Anthropology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has participated in various archaeological excavations in states like California and Alabama. She is excited to be in Memphis with her best friend, their three cats and their dog, Mora. Amanda enjoys being out in nature and spending time with her friends and family- but is also known for loving a good couch day where she can binge her favorite shows or play video games.
Amanda joined the insurance world in 2023 as a licensed Health and Life producer, where she quickly found her home as an Employee Benefits Account Specialist with Shoemaker Insurance. Now, she works closely with clients, co-workers, and carriers to manage group administration needs, assist new and existing groups with their benefit renewals, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. Amanda loves a challenge and is thrilled to be in a setting where she feels she can really help people.
Heather Walker
Heather Walker is a dedicated insurance professional focused on helping individuals and families protect what matters most. New to personal lines insurance, she specializes in auto, home, renters, and umbrella coverage. Prior to entering the insurance industry, Heather worked on the financial investments side, where she built a strong foundation in risk management and client-focused financial strategy. This background allows her to approach coverage with a broader understanding of overall financial protection.
Originally from Germantown, Tennessee, Heather is a graduate of the University of Memphis. She is married and a proud mother of four, giving her a personal appreciation for the importance of safeguarding family and financial security. Heather is committed to making insurance simple, transparent, and tailored to each client’s needs.

Christy Byczek
Christy Byczek is a licensed insurance agent with a strong focus on personalized risk management and client advocacy. She works closely with her clients to design tailored home, auto, and specialty insurance solutions while ensuring clarity throughout the process. Christy values long-term relationships built on trust, transparency, and dependable service.
Outside of work, Christy is a lifelong Memphian (aside from a brief college-era adventure in Starkville and the Nashville area) who genuinely loves being around people in just about any capacity. She’s the proud mom of a young adult daughter and a middle-school–aged son, and life at home is never dull thanks to Bowie, a husky with a very big personality, and two cats who mostly tolerate him. Christy is happiest with live music playing—especially at Overton Park Shell concerts—and takes every chance she can get to soak up Memphis’s vibrant music scene.
